Costs
The cost of treatment for depression or anxiety depends on several factors. Below, we explain how this works.
Reimbursement depends on your insurance
Treatment at Senz is covered by health insurance. However, because we are a new mental health care provider in the Netherlands, we do not yet have contracts with health insurers. This means insurers often do not reimburse the full cost of treatment. As a result, you will need to pay a personal contribution if you start treatment with us.
We charge 90% of the official NZa (Dutch Healthcare Authority) rate for our treatments. For example, if your health insurer covers 70% of the costs, we will invoice you for the remaining 20%. The exact amount your insurer reimburses depends on the specific policy you have.
Our rates follow the national mental health care tariffs.
If you have an international health insurer, or when it is covered by your employer, please contact us for more info.

Our Treatment Programmes
At Senz, we offer intensive treatment programmes tailored to your individual needs. Most clients follow our Core Programme, which is personalised based on the goals and support needs discussed during the intake assessment. The Core Programme includes several individual and group therapy sessions each week. We also offer a Focus Programme, which is a less intensive treatment option. This programme consists of one group therapy programme combined with individual therapy sessions. You will attend treatment once or twice a week over a shorter period. In addition to the Core and Focus Programmes, additional treatment may be recommended if it is appropriate for your situation. We will discuss the most suitable treatment plan with you during your intake.
Personal Contribution
Because our treatment programmes are intensive, the overall treatment costs—and therefore your personal contribution—may be higher than for less intensive forms of care. We understand that this may be a financial concern, and we believe it is important that our care remains accessible. For this reason, we have temporarily introduced a maximum personal contribution for both our Core and Focus Programmes.
Core Programme
For the Core Programme, your personal contribution will never exceed €1,750. This amount is invoiced in five instalments of €350. The Core Programme includes: individual therapy, group therapy, individual psychomotor Therapy (PMT), group-based PMT activation therapy, a self-care module focusing on either sleep or nutrition The total number of treatment sessions will be discussed during your intake.
Focus Programme
For the Focus Programme, your personal contribution will never exceed €750. This amount is invoiced in three instalments of €250. The Focus Programme includes: group therapy, individual therapy following the group sessions.
Example
Suppose your health insurer reimburses 52% of your treatment costs. Under normal circumstances, your personal contribution for the Core Programme would be approximately €3,140.
However, because of our maximum contribution policy, you will pay no more than €1,750 (in five invoices of €350). We cover the remaining €1,390 ourselves.
Costs for Treatment Outside the Core Program
For treatments not included in the core program, we currently charge 80% of the NZa rate. If we decide together during treatment planning to expand the program (e.g. to include trauma therapy), we will provide a cost estimate in advance.
How Much Does Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) Cost?
KAP sessions are covered by insurance but fall outside our basic program. Therefore, we charge 80% of the NZa rate. After your intake, we can calculate the expected costs for you.
What About My Insurance Deductible?
Treatment for depression or anxiety at Senz will count toward your annual health insurance deductible. Your insurer will apply the costs of treatment at Senz toward the deductible amount specified in your policy. This is in addition to your personal contribution.
