Costs

The cost of treatment for depression or anxiety depends on several factors. Below, we explain how this works.

Reimbursement Depends on Your Insurance

Treatment at Senz is covered by health insurance. However, because we are a new mental health care provider in the Netherlands, we do not yet have contracts with health insurers. This means insurers often do not reimburse the full cost of treatment. As a result, you will need to pay a personal contribution if you start treatment with us.

We charge 90% of the official NZa (Dutch Healthcare Authority) rate for our treatments. For example, if your health insurer covers 70% of the costs, we will invoice you for the remaining 20%. The exact amount your insurer reimburses depends on the specific policy you have.

Our rates follow the national mental health care tariffs.

If you have an international health insurer, or when it is covered by your employer, please contact us for more info.

De kosten van Senz volgen de landelijke GGZ-tarieven.

Costs

Temporary Cap on Personal Contributions

At Senz, we offer intensive treatment, which may include several individual and group sessions each week This means the costs for treatment, and your personal contribution, can add up. We understand this may be a barrier, and we want our care to be accessible to everyone. That’s why we’ve temporarily capped the personal contribution for our basic treatment program at €1250. This means:

1. There is no personal contribution for the intake session.

2. For the basic treatment program, you will never pay more than €1250 out of pocket. This program includes individual therapy, psychomotor therapy (PMT), running therapy, lifestyle coaching, and a second group therapy. The total number of sessions will be discussed during the intake.

Two examples:

  • If your insurance reimburses 52% of the treatment cost, your personal contribution would normally be around €3140. However, you’ll only be billed €1250. We will cover the remaining €1890 ourselves.
  • If your insurance reimburses 85%, your personal contribution would be about €400. Since this is below our €1250 cap, you will only pay the €400.

Costs for Treatment Outside the Basic Program

For treatments not included in the basic program, we currently charge 80% of the NZa rate. If we decide together during treatment planning to expand the program (e.g. to include trauma therapy or Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy), we will provide a cost estimate in advance.

How Much Does Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) Cost?

KAP sessions are covered by insurance but fall outside our basic program. Therefore, we charge 80% of the NZa rate. After your intake, we can calculate the expected costs for you.

What About My Insurance Deductible?

Treatment for depression or anxiety at Senz will count toward your annual health insurance deductible. Your insurer will apply the costs of treatment at Senz toward the deductible amount specified in your policy. This is in addition to your personal contribution.
